When the time comes to remove a stairlift — perhaps a family member has moved on, your needs have changed, or you're preparing a property for sale — we collect, dismantle and dispose of the unit cleanly. For most working stairlifts we offer free removal in exchange for the unit, which we then refurbish for another customer. For non-working or older units we charge a small flat fee that includes responsible recycling.

Removing a stairlift properly is a job for trained engineers. The rail is usually bolted to the treads of your staircase — not the wall — and incorrectly removed can leave damage to your stair carpet, woodwork and skirting. Our team brings the right tools and protective sheeting, takes the lift down in 60 to 90 minutes for a straight unit, and leaves the staircase clear and clean.
If your stairlift is in working order — typically less than 10 years old, with the motor and rail in good condition — we'll usually collect it free of charge. We refurbish the unit in our workshop and resell it as a reconditioned model to another London household. That keeps a perfectly serviceable lift out of landfill and helps another customer save money.

No hidden extras, no surprise charges, no upsells. Every quote is fixed and written.
For older, broken or non-standard units that aren't economical to refurbish, we charge a small flat fee that covers responsible disposal. Motors, batteries and steel rails are recycled through licensed contractors; upholstery and plastic components go through certified waste streams. You get paperwork confirming the unit's been handled correctly.
We can usually book a removal within a few days, and same-day collection is often possible for urgent cases — property sales, house clearances, hospital discharges, or rentals where a unit needs to come out before new tenants arrive. Call us and we'll quote you over the phone.

Real reviews from London families who've trusted us with their stairlift installation, repair or servicing.
"Came out the same day Mum's lift broke down — diagnosed the battery in five minutes and had a new one fitted the same afternoon. Genuinely helpful from the first phone call. Would absolutely recommend."
"From the home survey to the final handover the whole team were professional and patient. They walked Dad through the controls three times until he was confident. The curved rail is beautifully made and the install was spotless."
"We chose the reconditioned option because of the price and we honestly cannot tell it isn't brand new. Saved nearly £1,500 versus the quote from the original manufacturer. Engineer was lovely with my mother and explained everything."
